Bursting crackers in Hyderabad: the 2026 timings
Deepavali falls on 8 November 2026. Here is what is actually permitted in Hyderabad and the rest of Telangana, and where to check before you buy.

The two-hour window
Bursting in Telangana is normally notified for 8:00 to 10:00 PM on Deepavali. Outside those hours it is an offence, including on the days either side of Deepavali.
Green crackers only
Telangana permits certified green crackers alone. Look for the CSIR-NEERI green logo and the QR code printed on the box, and keep the box until you have burst everything in it.
Silence zones
No bursting within 100 metres of a hospital, school, court or place of worship, at any hour. Many streets in Hyderabad sit inside one without a sign.
Your gated community
The gated communities of the west, in Gachibowli, Kondapur and Kukatpally, usually set their own rule on top of the city's: one open area, a fixed hour, or no bursting in the common areas at all. Ask your association before you buy.
Telangana follows the Supreme Court's two-hour window, normally notified as 8:00 to 10:00 PM on Deepavali, permits certified green crackers only, and the police and pollution control board reissue the notification every season.
What to buy if you are in an apartment

The Supreme Court's standing direction limits bursting to two hours, and in Telangana that window has been notified as 8:00 to 10:00 PM on Deepavali. The hours are reissued every year, so confirm the 2026 notification before Deepavali on 8 November 2026.
Are only green crackers allowed in Hyderabad?
Telangana has permitted certified green crackers only in recent seasons, following the Supreme Court's orders. A green cracker carries the CSIR-NEERI green logo and a QR code on the box, and every box we mark as green on this site carries that certification. Confirm the current notification.
Can I burst crackers inside my gated community?
That is decided by your association more than by the city. The gated communities of the west, in Gachibowli, Kondapur and Kukatpally, usually name one open area and a fixed hour, and some do not allow bursting in common areas at all. Ask before you buy, not after.

Can I carry crackers on the Hyderabad Metro or a bus?
No. Fireworks are classed as explosives and may not be carried on Hyderabad Metro, on TGSRTC (formerly TSRTC) buses, or by ordinary courier. That is also why your order travels by registered road transport.
